The Entrance To City Picnic Restaurant

City Picnic Belfast

I visited City Picnic restaurant in Belfast city centre today for my brunch and ohh do I have some juicy details to tell about the food and management of the place.
First of all, I have to comment on the decor of the place, which is so lively, vibrantly colourful and upbeat that it instantly makes you feel happy and gives you a good sense that the food is just going to be downright scrumptious......... and it totally was to die for!!

When you sit down at your table your handed a pretty big menu with loads of mouthwatering foods carefully sectioned into parts so, you know if your in the mood for a burger you can just go straight to the burger section and check out the varieties of burgers they have to offer. To make their menu more exciting and not like a lot of other places they have recently added filled flat iron baguettes (look like paninis) and loaded chip cones which sounded amazingggg, to their menu.
Both Meals
I ordered a Piggy Baguette which, was filled to the brim with tender BBQ pulled pork, spicy chorizo, caramelised onions, jalapenos & stringy ozzzy cheddar cheese with a side portion of lightly garlic crunchy fries and pinkish/purplish homemade coleslaw. The only way I can describe eating all this is by comparing it to eating heavenly delicious food. Therefore, I strongly recommend you order this or any of their flat iron baguettes if you visit as you won't be disappointed.

However, I personally thought there wasn't enough BBQ sauce in the baguette and it was soooo filling that I probably didn't need to order the fries as aside. I also thought that the garlic fries were a bit flavourless and needed more garlic butter added to them to enhance the flavour.
My Meal
For drinks, I ordered a peanut butter milkshake and it was the bomb because it was packed with peanut butter sweetness, however, my partner tried to order a banana milkshake and they didn't have it even though it was still on the menu so, he then asked for a strawberry milkshake and they also didn't have that in stock so, they eventually offered him a raspberry milkshake which, wasn't even on the menu but, he still ordered it and enjoyed drinking the flavoursome drink.
My Partners Meal
The staff were friendly and the tables and mixed male and female bathrooms were kept very clean and tidy.

Overall, I would rate this cafe/restaurant an 8/10 and would definitely come back and order again as the food was delicious, the place was clean/ well kept and the prices are very reasonable for their portion size.
